Record history where you find it

A location, a photograph and a note can make a real difference. Take Fornspor into the field.

An object is more than its appearance

A findspot connects an object with its landscape and other evidence. Without a record, important context can be lost.

Fornspor is FORN’s recording app. It brings together finds, photographs and locations, with an overview of detecting trips.

Start with these steps

  1. Take clear photographs of the object and its context.
  2. Record the location, date and your observations.
  3. Separate observations from tentative interpretations.
  4. Contact the National Museum about possible antiquities.

A Fornspor record does not replace reporting a find to the National Museum. Avoid publishing precise locations when doing so could put heritage at risk.
