From signal to record
Record every find, including the ordinary ones. Together, observations may reveal patterns that one object cannot show on its own.
Photograph
Capture the object and its condition clearly. Include a scale when practical.
Locate
Save the place and date while you still have the context.
Describe
Record what you observe. Add an identification later if it remains uncertain.
